A sandstorm hit Iraq on 20th Monday, temporarily suspending flights at airports in Baghdad and Najaf.This is the third sandstorm in Iraq since July 7th.
According to Agence France-Presse, In Baghdad, yellow dust hung in the air and flights were grounded at Baghdad International Airport because of poor visibility. This is the third time in two weeks that Iraq has been hit by sand and dust.On July 7th, the dust hit northern Iraq, affecting irbil and other places. Flights were cancelled in Irbil. The dust cloud moved south, past Baghdad and as far away as Nasiriyah. Dozens of people have been hospitalized with respiratory problems as a result of the dusty weather, a health ministry spokesman said on July 9th. On December 12, Baghdad, Najaf and other places again encountered dust weather, dozens of flights grounded in the morning, until the afternoon to resume.
