Recently, the author learned from the Yangguan National Nature Reserve of Dunhuang, Gansu Province, that the national second-level key protected wild animal gazella subgutturosa frequently appeared in the field monitoring camera. A new member of the population is added.
According to the staff of the reserve, hundreds of gazella subgutturosa have been monitored in Yangguan, covering the Yangguan and West Lake nature reserves, and the population is rising steadily every year. Especially since the last winter and spring, gazella subgutturosa frequently appear in the field surveillance cameras, either in small groups, or in groups of 10 or 20, some even come to the protection station activities.
It is a typical wild animal living in desert and semi-desert areas. It is similar in shape to yellow sheep. Because the throat of male gazella subgutturosa is enlarged during the rutting season, it is like goose throat, so it is named "goose-throated antelope", which is listed in the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2013.
