2021年，我国全面建成小康社会。在这场波澜壮阔的伟大实践中，从建言国家战略方针到及时传达社情民意，从联谊同胞叙情暖心到深入基层纾难解困，统一战线成员建改革发展之言、做富民惠民之事、聚同心同行之力，发挥了团结奋进的引领作用，彰显了统一战线的强大凝聚力。

By 2021, China will build a moderately prosperous society in all respects. 人心向背、力量对比是决定党和人民事业成败的关键。统一战线的本质是大团结大联合，根本任务是争取人心、凝聚力量。百年来，我们党坚持人民创造历史的唯物史观，把统一战线摆在重要位置，努力寻求最大公约数、画出最大同心圆，实现了从四分五裂、一盘散沙到高度统一、民族团结的巨变。从国民革命联合战线到工农民主统一战线，从抗日民族统一战线到人民民主统一战线，再到爱国统一战线，中国人民和中华民族心聚在了一起、血流到了一起，共同书写了抵御外来侵略、推翻反动统治、建设人民国家、推进改革开放的英雄史诗。历史一再证明，把绝大多数人团结在中国共产党周围，结成最广泛的统一战线，是我们战胜一切困难、夺取事业胜利的强大力量源泉。

The trend of popular support and the balance of forces are key to the success or failure of the cause of the Party and the people. Over the past century, our Party has adhered to the historical materialism that the people create history, placed the united front in an important position, sought the greatest common divisionand drew the greatest concentric circles, and achieved great changes from fragmentation and disunity to a high degree of unity and national unity. From the national Revolutionary United Front to the workers' and peasants' democratic United Front, from the anti-Japanese national United Front to the people's Democratic United Front, and again to the patriotic united front, the Chinese people and the Chinese nation have united in their hearts and blood, and together they have written a heroic epic of resisting foreign aggression, overthrowing reactionary rule, building a people's state, and advancing reform and opening up. History has proved time and again that uniting the overwhelming majority of the people around the Communist Party of China and forming the broadest united front is the source of great strength for us to overcome all difficulties and win the victory of our cause.

统一战线的同心圆越画越大，圆心永远是中国共产党。统战工作是政治工作，必须始终坚持党的领导，以党的旗帜为旗帜、以党的方向为方向、以党的意志为意志，把统一战线各方面成员团结凝聚在党的周围。党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央高度重视统一战线工作，全面推动统战事业持续发展。推进新时代民族团结进步事业，各族儿女像石榴籽一样紧紧抱在一起；促进非公有制经济健康发展和非公有制经济人士健康成长；坚持我国宗教的中国化方向，宗教工作法治化明显加强……统一战线为党和人民事业不断发展营造了十分有利的条件，这归功于统一战线成员履职尽责、团结奋进，更得益于党中央的集中统一领导。确保党在统一战线工作中总揽全局、协调各方，才能保证统一战线工作始终沿着正确政治方向前进。

Only by ensuring that the Party has overall control and coordinates all parties in the united front work can we ensure that the united front work always moves in the correct political direction.

团结统一的中华民族是海内外中华儿女共同的根，博大精深的中华文化是海内外中华儿女共同的魂，实现中华民族伟大复兴是海内外中华儿女共同的梦。今天，我们比历史上任何时期都更接近、更有信心和能力实现中华民族伟大复兴的目标。与此同时，改革发展稳定任务之重、矛盾风险挑战之多、治国理政考验之大都前所未有，世界百年未有之大变局深刻变化前所未有。越是形势复杂、任务艰巨，越需要发挥统一战线这一重要法宝作用。只要我们不断巩固和发展各民族大团结、全国人民大团结、全体中华儿女大团结，铸牢中华民族共同体意识，就一定能形成海内外全体中华儿女心往一处想、劲往一处使的生动局面。

“大厦之成，非一木之材也；大海之阔，非一流之归也。”今天，踏上向第二个百年奋斗目标进军的新征程，更好发挥统一战线优势，全体中华儿女定能凝聚共识、汇聚力量，同心同德、建功立业，汇聚起实现中华民族伟大复兴的磅礴伟力。
