Meizhou, Sept. 14 (Reporter Zheng Chen, Xu Yuanyuan, Zhou Qiong) On Sept. 14, the section from Meizhou West to Longchuan West of Longlong high-speed railway was officially opened, marking a significant milestone: China's total railway operating mileage has surpassed 160,000 kilometers, including over 46,000 kilometers of high-speed rail.

回望新中国成立时，全国铁路只有2万多公里。改革开放之初，铁路营业里程增加到5.2万公里。进入新时代，中国铁路路网规模、质量和现代化水平显著提升，铁路固定资产投资完成9.65万亿元，累计建成投产铁路6.6万公里，其中高铁3.8万公里。
