For the Rainforest Alliance, managing insect pests, diseases, and weeds is part of climate-smart and a holistic approach to ecosystem management. The Rainforest Alliance believes that pesticide use can be decreased by strengthening and balancing the functions of the agro-ecosystem. We aim to achieve a change in mindset that first looks at the environmental and social components of managing pests, and sees external inputs such as pesticides as a last resort.

雨林联盟提出，病虫害与杂草治理是气候智慧型、一体化生态系统管理模式的重要一环。联盟主张，通过完善、调和农业生态系统自身机能，能够降低农药施用规模。我方倡导转变治理理念：开展有害生物治理时优先考量环境与社会层面因素，仅在万不得已时施用农药等外源投入品。
