Northwest China is home to the world’s sole Loess Plateau. Of all its tablelands, the Dongzhiyuan Tableland in eastern Longdong stands out as the most representative, hailed as “China’s Premier Loess Tableland”. Situated in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, it lies on the northern bank of the Jing River, sandwiched between two major waterways—the Malian River and the Pu River—and forms the geographic heart of the local area. Viewed from above, the Dongzhiyuan Tableland features intact tableland topography crisscrossed by gullies. Its gorgeous, sweeping plains with rich, vibrant hues form a one-of-a-kind geomorphic landscape.
