2023年12月31日晚，随着东方航空由郑州飞往昆明的MU5790航班、祥鹏航空由德宏飞往昆明的8L9924航班、四川航空由南京飞往昆明的3U8262航班、昆明航空由石家庄飞往昆明的KY3172航班、南方航空由广州飞往昆明的CZ3489航班、苏南瑞丽航空由德宏飞往昆明的DR6504航班、湖南航空由无锡飞往昆明的A67148航班平稳降落在昆明长水国际机场，至此，昆明机场圆满实现2023安全年。
On the evening of December 31, 2023, as the MU5790 flight from Zhengzhou to Kunming operated by China Eastern Airlines, the 8L9924 flight from Dehong to Kunming operated by Lucky Air, the 3U8262 flight from Nanjing to Kunming operated by Sichuan Airlines, the KY3172 flight from Shijiazhuang to Kunming operated by Kunming Airlines, the CZ3489 flight from Guangzhou to Kunming operated by China Southern Airlines, the DR6504 flight from Dehong to Kunming operated by Ruili Airlines, and the A67148 flight from Wuxi to Kunming operated by Hunan Airlines, all safely landed at Kunming Changshui International Airport. With this, Kunming Airport successfully concluded its 2023 safety year.

2023年，昆明机场在云南航产投集团的领导下，面对生产经营、安全运行、改革攻坚、工程建设等任务，各级管理者和全体员工凝心聚力、团结奋进，确保机场正常运行。回首2023年，既是昆明机场实施“八大工程”之年，又是昆明机场推出“风展红旗映长水”党建品牌之年。这一年，昆明机场成为国内首批获评的三星级“双碳机场”；这一年，昆明机场实现了“首乘无忧”特色服务全覆盖；这一年，昆明机场迎来了首个泰国入境旅游团队；这一年，昆明机场通过了云南省“绿美机场”建设核查验收；这一年，昆明机场迎来了转场运营11周年；这一年，昆明机场迎来了S1卫星厅正式启用；这一年，昆明机场成功创建了国际卫生机场；这一年，昆明机场顺利通过航空安保审计……特别是今年暑运以来，昆明机场围绕“美丽绽放 花开长水”主题相继推出了聂耳交响乐团机场快闪演出、S1卫星厅音乐会、香港青年乐团机场快闪演奏、文山富宁坡芽歌书合唱团表演“坡芽情歌”以及“火光灿烂 燃动激情”火把节等主题活动，为全国各地的旅客带来了全新的体验。

Especially since the summer rush this year, Kunming Airport has successively launched a series of theme activities around the theme of "Beautiful Blossoms, Flowers Blooming at Changshui", such as the Nie Er Symphony Orchestra airport flash performance, S1 satellite hall concert, Hong Kong Youth Orchestra airport flash performance, Wenshan Funing Poya Ge Chorus performing "Poya Love Song", and "Brilliant Fire, Igniting Passion" Torch Festival, bringing new experiences to passengers from all over the country.

全力打造双碳机场。2023年2月22日，昆明机场在第四届中国机场发展大会暨创新成果展上被中国民用机场协会授予“双碳机场”三星级证书。昆明机场积极参与中国民用机场协会组织开展的“双碳机场”评价工作，梳理各类文档资料1208项，完成了能源审计工作，完善了碳排放管理相关制度，通过了中国民用机场协会组织的专家评审，成为国内首批荣获三星级“双碳机场”称号的八个机场之一。
Striving to create a dual-carbon airport. On February 22, 2023, Kunming Airport was awarded the three-star "dual-carbon airport" certificate by the China Civil Airports Association at the Fourth China Airport Development Conference and Innovation Achievement Exhibition. Kunming Airport actively participated in the "dual-carbon airport" evaluation work organized by the China Civil Airports Association, sorted out 1,208 types of document materials, completed energy audits, improved carbon emission management related systems, and passed the expert review organized by the China Civil Airports Association, becoming one of the first eight airports in China to be awarded the three-star "dual-carbon airport" title.
安全工作常抓不懈。2023年12月11日至15日，按照2023年度局方航空安保审计工作计划，民航西南地区管理局航空安保审计组对昆明机场开展了航空安保现场审计。内容涉及机场组织机构及运行环境、航空安保管理、航空安保运行和航空安保应急管理等模块。昆明机场严格依照国家民用航空安全保卫相关法律、法规、规章和标准及其他规范性文件要求，及时制定、完善工作制度和程序，不断健全安保运行工作机制，建立了以机场航空安保方案为核心的航空安保组织体系。

From December 11th to 15th, 2023, according to the annual bureau aviation security audit work plan, the aviation security audit team of the Civil Aviation Southwest Regional Administration conducted an on-site aviation security audit of Kunming Airport. The content involves airport organization and operation environment, aviation security management, aviation security operation, and aviation security emergency management modules. Kunming Airport strictly follows the requirements of relevant laws, regulations, rules, standards, and other normative documents of national civil aviation security defense, timely formulates and improves work systems and procedures, continuously improves the security operation mechanism, and establishes an aviation security organization system with the airport aviation security plan as the core.
服务质量不断提高。2023年3月28日，昆明机场迎来了“首乘无忧”特色服务一周年。2023年5月25日，随着东航云南公司和四川航空公司加入昆明机场开展的旅客“首乘无忧”特色服务活动，昆明机场实现了旅客“首乘无忧”特色服务全覆盖。自“首乘无忧”特色服务推出以来，昆明机场始终坚持“长情陪伴 水润无言”的服务理念，累计保障服务首乘旅客286697人次，其中中转旅客59183人次，覆盖了首次乘机的各类旅客群体，为首次乘机旅客提供了一段“舒心、顺心、安心”的乘机体验。
Service quality continues to improve. On March 28, 2023, Kunming Airport celebrated the first anniversary of its "First Ride Without Worry" characteristic service. On May 25, 2023, with the participation of China Eastern Yunnan Company and Sichuan Airlines, Kunming Airport achieved full coverage of the "First Ride Without Worry" characteristic service for passengers. Since the launch of the "First Ride Without Worry" characteristic service, Kunming Airport has always adhered to the service concept of "long-term companionship, silent moisture", and has provided services to 286,697 first-time passengers, including 59,183 transit passengers, covering various types of first-time passengers, providing a "comfortable, smooth, and reassuring" flying experience for first-time passengers.
绿美机场成绩显著。2023年5月26日，昆明机场以优异的成绩通过了云南省交通运输厅组织的“绿美机场”建设现场核查验收。2023年6月，昆明机场以特点、亮点突出，生态、社会效益突出等方面取得的成绩，被云南省交通运输厅评为云南省绿美交通标杆典型示范项目。目前，昆明机场已完成绿化总面积约416万平方米，场区绿化覆盖率超60%，飞行区绿化覆盖率超41%，航站楼绿化面积约2445平方米，S1卫星厅绿化面积约784平方米。
Green Beauty Airport has achieved remarkable results. On May 26, 2023, Kunming Airport passed the on-site inspection and acceptance of "Green Beauty Airport" organized by Yunnan Provincial Department of Transportation with excellent results. In June, 2023, Kunming Airport was rated as a typical demonstration project of green and beautiful traffic benchmarking in Yunnan Province by Yunnan Provincial Department of Transportation for its achievements in characteristics, outstanding highlights and outstanding ecological and social benefits. At present, Kunming Airport has completed a total greening area of about 4.16 million square meters, with the green coverage rate of the site area exceeding 60%, the green coverage rate of the flight area exceeding 41%, the green area of the terminal building about 2,445 square meters and the green area of S1 satellite hall about 784 square meters.

开拓市场新开航线。2023年10月29日起，全国民航开始执行2023/24年冬春航季航班计划。本次换季，昆明机场持续拓宽航空入昆通道，计划新开、恢复昆明—河内、呼和浩特—昆明—仰光、昆明—首尔、昆明—澳门等31条国际地区航线；新开、恢复昆明—大连、昆明—鄂州、昆明—安庆、昆明—黑河、昆明—延吉、昆明—宜宾—青岛等44条国内航线，实现了大连航线直飞，重点加强了对西北、新疆地区通航点的覆盖，进一步加密了北京、上海、武汉、成都、南京、郑州、西安等城市航班密度。
New routes to expand the market. Starting from October 29, 2023, the civil aviation in China began to implement the 2023/24 winter and spring flight plan. In this season, Kunming Airport continued to broaden the air access to Kunming, planning to open or resume 31 international routes such as Kunming-Hanoi, Hohhot-Kunming-Yangon, Kunming-Seoul, and Kunming-Macau; and 44 domestic routes such as Kunming-Dalian, Kunming-Ezhou, Kunming-Anqing, Kunming-Heihe, Kunming-Yanji, Kunming-Yibin-Qingdao, etc. It has realized direct flights to Dalian and further strengthened the coverage of navigation points in the northwest and Xinjiang regions, and further densified the flight density of cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and Xi'an.
展望未来，任重道远。2023年8月18日，昆明机场改扩建工程航站区及北工作区配套工程初步设计及概算获得中国民航局和云南省人民政府联合批复同意，这是继今年4月飞行区改扩建工程获批后取得的又一重要进展。昆明机场改扩建工程按满足年旅客吞吐9500万人次，货邮吞吐量100万吨，年起降架次63.3万架次设计。改扩建工程完成后，昆明机场将建设成为全球第2个大型高原多跑道运行国际枢纽机场，有望形成通达全球主要城市的航线网络。
Looking ahead to the future, the task is arduous and the road is long. On August 18, 2023, the preliminary design and budget of the terminal area and north work area supporting project of the Kunming Airport expansion and renovation project received joint approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, marking another important progress after the approval of the flight area expansion and renovation project in April this year. The Kunming Airport expansion and renovation project is designed to meet the needs of handling 95 million passengers per year, with a cargo and mail throughput of 1 million tons, and an annual takeoff and landing frequency of 633,000 times. After the completion of the expansion and renovation project, Kunming Airport will be built into the world's second largest high-altitude multi-runway international hub airport, with the potential to form a route network connecting major cities around the world.
