佛山科学技术学院拟更名为佛山大学

Foshan University of Science and Technology is planning to change its name to Foshan University.

8月7日，广东省教育厅发布《关于2023年拟申报高校设置事项的公示》，对拟向教育部申报的佛山科学技术学院更名佛山大学、以肇庆医学高等专科学校为基础设置肇庆健康医学院2个事项予以公示。公示时间为2023年8月7日—2023年8月11日。

On August 7th, the Education Department of Guangdong Province issued a public notice regarding the proposed applications for higher education institution changes in 2023. The notice includes the proposed renaming of Foshan University of Science and Technology to Foshan University, as well as the establishment of Zhaoqing Health Medical College based on Zhaoqing Medical College. The public notice period is from August 7th, 2023, to August 11th, 2023.

佛山科学技术学院是经国家教育部批准设立的全日制公办普通本科高校，肇始于1958年创办的佛山师范学院和华南农学院佛山分院，迄今已有65年办学历史，是一所拥有硕士学位授予权、博士学位授予立项建设单位的广东省高水平大学(重点学科建设高校)。学校现有仙溪、江湾、河滨三个校区，总占地面积达2200余亩，总建筑面积近73万平方米。学校设有16个二级学院，拥有7个硕士学位授权一级学科和10个硕士专业学位授权类别，广东省优势重点学科2个、特色重点学科4个、“冲补强”重点建设学科4个。拥有国家标准委国家氢能技术标准创新基地(佛山)1个，粤港澳联合实验室1个，广东省重点实验室7个，广东省工程技术研究中心29个。

Foshan University of Science and Technology is a full-time public undergraduate institution established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China. It traces its origins back to the founding of Foshan Normal College and the Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College in 1958. With a history of 65 years, the university has evolved into a high-level institution of Guangdong Province, authorized to grant master's degrees and approved for the establishment of doctoral programs. The university encompasses three campuses: Xianxi, Jiangwan, and Hebin, covering a total area of over 2200 acres and featuring a combined floor space of nearly 730,000 square meters.The university comprises 16 secondary schools and departments, offering 7 first-level disciplines authorized to grant master's degrees and 10 categories of professional master's degree programs. It boasts 2 provincial key disciplines, 4 distinctive key disciplines, and 4 disciplines in the 'strengthening weak areas and reinforcing strong areas' initiative. The university has established a National Hydrogen Technology Standard Innovation Base (Foshan), a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory, 7 provincial key laboratories, and 29 provincial engineering and technology research centers.

2022年7月，佛山科学技术学院表示，更名大学已成功纳入广东省高校设置 " 十四五 " 规划并上报教育部。在今年1月召开的广东省高质量发展大会上，佛山科学技术学院党委书记骆少明表示，围绕加快推进大学更名、博士点建设、学科影响力提升“三大工程”建设任务，以“冲博工程”为统领，进一步加强学科内涵建设，组织开展重大科研成果培育，全面实施精准引才育才。

In July 2022, Foshan University of Science and Technology announced that the university's renaming had successfully been included in the '14th Five-Year Plan' for the establishment of Guangdong Province's higher education institutions and had been submitted to the Ministry of Education. During the Guangdong Province's High-Quality Development Conference held in January of this year, Luo Shaoming, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Foshan University of Science and Technology, stated that around the 'Three Major Projects' of accelerating university renaming, establishing doctoral programs, and enhancing disciplinary influence, with the overarching theme of the 'Ph.D. Push Project,' the university would further strengthen the development of academic content, organize major research achievements, and comprehensively implement precise talent attraction and cultivation.

肇庆医学高等专科学校

Zhaoqing Medical College

肇庆医学高等专科学校前身为创建于1958年的中山医学院肇庆分院。2004年，经教育部批准，升格为目前广东省唯一的公办医学高等专科学校。六十年栉风沐雨、几代师生砥砺前行，在半个多世纪发展的历史长河中，肇庆医专人始终秉承“大医精诚、知行合一”的校训，勤教、严绳、精业、济世的校风，德高为范、学高为师的教风，勤学、睿思、精诚、至善的学风。60多年来，学校开拓创新，不断攀登，累计培养了70000多名医药卫生专业人才，为广东基层医疗卫生事业发展做出了重要贡献。

Zhaoqing Medical College, formerly known as the Zhaoqing Branch of Zhongshan Medical College founded in 1958, was transformed into its present status as the only public medical higher vocational college in Guangdong Province with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2004.
